IMPORTING A SCRIPT
If you have a script you've written in a dedicated screenwriting tool like Final Draft or Movie Magic, you may wish to import it to Zhura. To do so you must SAVE or EXPORT the script as a TEXT or RICH TEXT file. Once you've done that you are ready to import it into Zhura.
If you have a script you've written in a word processor like Microsoft Word, Open Office or any Rich Text editor like Word Pad (Windows) or Text Edit (Mac), you can easily import any of these major file formats (DOC, ODT, RTF) into Zhura.
To import your file, go to the CREATE SCRIPT page, locate the line "Import Script" at the bottom and "Browse" for the file you wish to import. Once it's in the editor, you should find your script properly formatted.
For scripts written in word processing software, you may need to make a few adjustments after importing depending on how you wrote it. Hopefully you've tried your best to achieve some kind of basic script layout. But don't worry if you're script doesn't look "Hollywood". We've taken steps here at Zhura to recognize typical home-brewed style screenplays. To smooth the transition from your script into Zhura, be sure you've capitalized CHARACTER names and have not broken lines of DIALOGUE before you import.
If you have a script you've had trouble importing, please let us know so we may better serve your needs. Optionally, email your script to support@zhura.com and we will test the import ourselves.
