  • UK Writer - You can beat them by joining them May 27th 2008

New software that works when you are connected is being offered free: check out Zhura (www.zhura.com), a company that offers script-writing software free as long as you are online. OK, that is a disadvantage if you happen to be in a blackspot where you can't get online, but they tell me that will change. And the software is Web 2.0, i.e. it is designed so that writers working together or a script editor working with a writer can collaborate on the same script and all changes are automatically tracked.

  • talk to rex - Making screenwriting easier... February 23rd 2008

Zhura are focussed on collaboration, so you put up your idea, screenplay, whatever, and license it so that other people can contribute. Obviously you all retain copyright for whatever work you do on it, which will just make it pretty much impossible that anybody would ever actually pay for it (also I suspect WGA arbitration is gonna kick in automatically if you even mention Zhura in future).
